Since 1979, in Boyds, Maryland, when Gary and Tina Lowenthal created a 12-inch bear with movable joints for their son, Matthew, the inspiration was love. And since fashioning their first bear, Boyds Bears has been a well-known, trusted brand and long-time friend helping to make many treasured and special memories and inspiring dreams and aspirations.

Now, 10 years later they are stirring and just about fully awake from their nap - ready to celebrate their 45th anniversary with renewed excitement and an adventurous spirit, trekking out of their cave and back into your hearts and homes – where they belong.
